Things for your weekend!

C Period, this one is for you!!

Today in class I met with each of you individually about who you are going to do your research paper on. For Tuesday you need to make sure that you have the following:

1.  Find more research on person.  Find background information on your person.  Who are they?  What did they do?

2. After you have gathered some background information make sure you develop a question.  Developing a question will help you narrow things down.  It will also help you research material and determine what is necessary and unnecessary.  The question is essentially what paper should answer.  (Ex.  What role did George Washington play during the American Revolution?  or What challenges did George Washington face during his presidency)

3.  After you have developed your question find more sources that are specific do your question.

Make sure you are creating a list of sources.  Each item you list should look like this:

This is a copy of Washington's Farewell Address.  An overview, timeline, and introduction are given.
(Yes, I realize this is a ".com" this is ok as it is a credible source!!)

Your Source List (as we will call it) is a working list.  You should have a couple of sources to start you off for Tuesday.

This is your focus for right now.  You should not be worrying about any writing yet!
